  • 05.07.2017 SilkRoad to be revived in four Eurasian countries

    The Turkic Council, a relatively new international organisation, comprised of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, is determined to revive the ancient Silk Road. The Council designed a tour package and expects 1 million tourists from around the world to visit the destinations in the package until 2023. This new route promises a unique experience for tourists interested in cultural tourism and alternative safe destinations writes Eli Hadzhieva.
    The Turkic Council created a tour package, which will be commercialized and online sales will start very soon. Already two Fam Tours were organised in April and May, with tour operators and journalists coming from across Europe, Asia and America. The tour goes through İstanbul, Konya, Nevşehir, Kayseri, Gandja, Sheki, Qobustan, Baku, Almaty, Turkistan, Shymkent, Taraz, Bishkek, Naryn, Issyk-Kul and Tash Rabat.
    The tour package makes use of several public and private sponsors in 4 countries for 14 days. There are 11 tour operators in the organisation of the tour, which are coordinated by a Turkish operator. The Turkic Council is leading the negotiations with airlines and hotels to obtain competitive prices.
     

  • 27.04.2017 Tourist package The Modern Silk Road presented in Baku

    Tourist package The Modern Silk Road, organized by the Turkic Council was presented in Baku. Report informs, representative of the Turkic Council Pelin Musabay said that the tour package will connect the four member countries of the Turkic Council - Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey. According to her, main purpose of the project is to present the culture, to acquaint the world with these countries, and to promote economic development of regions through which the tourist route will pass. She recalled that the proposal to create a tour route was made at summit of presidents in 2014.

    P. Musabay also reported that in the near future a meeting of the tourism ministers of the member countries will take place in Kazakhstan, where the details of the tour package will be discussed. She expressed hope that by 2023 the number of tourists using this route will reach 1 million. Head of the tourism development of the regions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Seymur Hasanov called the initiation of this project an important event. He noted that the project is currently under testing and will be presented to foreign tourists in May.

    Notably, tour will start in Istanbul and finish in Bishkek. In Azerbaijan, the tour route will pass through Baku, Gobustan, Sheki, Shamakhi, Ganja and Nakhchivan. The duration of the route will be 14 days, the cost - $ 2500, not including air tickets.

    Representatives of foreign companies noted South-Kazakhstan region’s potential in tourism, calling it the heart of the Silk Road.Representatives of tourism companies from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey assembled for the VII meeting of the Turkic Council, Kazpravda.kz reports citing the press service of South Kazakhstan region’s governorate. The meeting discussed the program for creating a single tourism product "Modern Silk Road" and its promotion to the international tourism market. Memorandum was signed on the establishment of Turkic Council nations’ tour operators’ consortium. Culture and Tourism Ministry of Turkey presented the program for 2016 on improving the service of the Turkic Council nations. Deputy Adviser on EXPO 2017 Rosa Asanbaeva detailed on the planned hotel-train tour of Kazakhstan in the framework of the international exhibition.
